Less than three years after the Armistice was signed in November 1918, the households of Great Britain were completing census returns for the 1921 census. Britain was still very much in recovery after over four years of conflict and this is reflected in the 1921 census: unemployment, disabled former servicemen, widows, orphaned children and re-marriages.
In this reflective talk, Paul will look at the stories behind the entries and, with the benefit of hindsight, will look at what happened next.
